Waking up next to a billion dollars

iMob keeps surprising me. Yesterday a colleague and I concluded that the game is in fact pretty stupid. At a certain point the game comes down to patience and pushing a button once in a while. Other than that it keeps crashing. Sometimes I had to start it up like 10 times before it would actually connect. This morning I woke up to this:

onebillliondollars

I won’t complain, but… really? Is that a bug? I do hope you can exchange iMob dollars for real dollars some day. Until then I’m keeping hold of it.

Haha, that’s bound to upset the balance of the game in a pretty bad way. I’d spend it ASAP if I were you, makes it harder to take it away.

I tried iMob once, couldn’t create an account, couldn’t connect, so gave up on it. It’s interesting how often the most crappily implemented games somehow become the most popular…

Yeah, I expected more after reading this TechCrunch article: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/01/15/imob-hits-the-iphone-prepare-to-become-an-addict/

“The game itself is too complex to fully describe in a few paragraphs, but the gameplay generally revolves around doing ‘jobs’, attacking other players to earn cash, and spending the proceeds to buy more powerful weapons and other items. It might not sound like much (especially given the lack of flashy graphics), but it can be incredibly addictive once you’ve gotten a grip on the basics.”

    Uhuh.
